Financial Assistance at PVCS
Financial Aid Questions & Answers
How much are tuition and fees at PVCS?
PVCS works hard to keep our tuition and fees as affordable and competitive as possible. You will find that our tuition is one of the lowest rates in the middle Tennessee area.
Tuition varies by grade level and covers the general cost for faculty, facilities management, and administrative support. Most families should plan for some additional monthly expenses and non-refundable fees.
Fill out the form on our tuition page for more information about our tuition schedule and fees.
Who is eligible to apply for financial assistance?
Any family enrolling in K5-12th* that has applied to or is registered at PVCS can apply for financial assistance. PVCS believes that Christian education should be accessible for all families. The purpose of the PVCS Financial Assistance Program is to assist families who demonstrate a need for financial assistance. If you as a family feel you cannot afford the tuition, then please apply.
*Financial Assistance is unavailable for students enrolled in preschool.
NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY
Pleasant View Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policy, financial aid policy; athletic and other school administered programs.
Who processes my application for financial assistance and is it kept confidential?
PVCS uses the services of FACTS Grant & Aid, a third-party reviewer, to assist with the confidential financial assistance data collection process. FACTS will send a recommendation to PVCS. A financial committee will review the recommendation. All information is kept confidential.
Is financial assistance based upon my family’s income alone?
The FACTS Grant & Aid application considers other factors such as: charitable contributions, reasonable living expenses, and the number of children to be enrolled at PVCS.
The family and the student (if in grades 7-12) must sign a statement that both the family and student are in regular attendance and in good standing at a local church. A form can be received from the school office; please contact us to request one.
I still do not know if I will qualify? And how much will my family receive anyhow?
It is impossible to answer this question without completing the FACTS Grant & Aid application. Each family has a different set of circumstances that will enter into the final decision. We STRONGLY encourage anyone who believes that they cannot fully afford the tuition to apply.
I have multiple children. What should I do?
All children are considered on one application. Normally, the amount of financial assistance (if you qualify) will increase with the combined tuition costs considered. It does not take into consideration the tuition of another child enrolled at a different private school.
Our family is a split family; whose information is required?
In cases where the applicant is divorced, the assets of both parents will be considered if the parents have joint custody. If the custodial parent has remarried, the assets of the step-parent will be included in the review. If someone else is financially responsible for the student, that person must complete the assistance form and explain his/her relationship to the student.
What does the financial assistance cover?
Financial assistance is only available for tuition purposes. It does not cover any extra required or optional (aftercare/summer camp) fees.
What is the cost for me to go through this process?
FACTS charges a financial assistance application setup fee of $30. You will pay them directly online.
